Devotion & Healing "Hungry Ghosts" with John Lockley : Presented by the Ram Dass Fellowship

1 Просмотры
In a world mad with consumerism and technology, many people are searching for ways home to spirit. By addressing the "hungry ghosts" of the craving/ wanting energy inside us, and replacing it with a spiritual practice that involves prayer, devotion, and gratitude, we can wake up and create space for all life to thrive. Join traditional African shaman John Lockley in a down-to-earth chat about ‘Ubuntu’ teachings from South Africa. (Ubuntu means ‘I am what I am because of who we all are’, indicating we are all products of our communities.) John will discuss simple chants, meditations, and teachings that have helped him navigate civil war in South Africa, illness, and loneliness.

John Lockley is a fully initiated sangoma (healer and shaman) in the Xhosa lineage of South Africa, having spent 10 years in apprenticeship with the tribe that gave us Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. His remarkable journey through the constraints of Apartheid is a testament to the human spirit, and to the power of forgiveness and reconciliation.
